The AK37 is a compact climbing sack for mountaineering and alpine rock routes. It features welded seams almost throughout making it virtually waterproof and it is constructed of incredibly tough Kevlar based fabric but is still very light. A traditional top-loader, it has quickly gained recognition as an excellent all-round sack, particularly on big one-day technical routes.
Uniquely for a sack this size, it has (removable) frame-stays making it comfortable to carry even when laden with 10kg of ropes and hardware. The new third generation model features a fully welded construction and a new lighter, stronger Kevlar fabric.
- Roll-top closure making the body of the sack virtually waterproof.
- Continuous side compression straps - quick and easy to fit or remove.
- Oversized back haul loop - easy to grab and clip.
- External zipped lid pocket - with taped seams for water-resistance.
- 40mm webbing waistbelt with low-profile hip-fins and combination alloy/plastic buckle.
- Attachment points on hip fins to add your own gear loops.
- Two ice-axe holders for modern type axes.
- Stretch wand pockets.
- Combination alloy/plastic buckles on lid straps.
Fabric: 40% Kevlar/60% Cordura. Please note that this Kevlar fabric is very tough and very light - the downside is that it fades in sunlight and the seams can look a bit tatty, these minor issues should be considered as part of the character of the sack not as a fault!
Frame: 2 x 7.50mm Titanium alloy stays (removable).
Capacity: 37 litres.
