Boulderers don't need a lot of kit, rock shoes, mat, chalkbag, loads of chalk, beanie, and of course, a toothbrush for cleaning all that chalk off....! Here's a selection of the latter plus those other bouldering essentials for when you overdo it, Finger Tape and other aids to recovery from injury.
Finger Tape was once mainly used in the USA for taping up hands and fingers to prevent skin-shredding on ascents of prolonged granite crack climbs. It is more commonly used in the UK by ageing rock jocks in search of eternal youth to reinforce weak finger-joints prior to sustained sessions at the wall or on their local boulders - we're not sure about the wisdom of this and would advise dropping your standard a bit or laying off altogether and seeking medical advice for persistent problems. But we bet you won't!
