This version has added MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) technology. The MIPS system is designed to protect against the rotational motion (or kinematics) transmitted to the brain from angled impacts to the head. This added protection system has been proven to reduce the rotational violence to the brain by absorbing and redirecting oblique impacts to the helmet.
Constructed with a two piece ABS shell construction that allows for an optimised fit and dual colourways, the Capitan also boasts a fusion of EPP foam and an EPS foam puck, which meets the proposed UIAA increased side and back protection requirements.
The Capitan’s vents provide ample breathability on hot days and the low-profile suspension system gives a good fit.
Integrated headlamp clips with an elastic keeper on the back secure a headtorch for alpine/winter climbing.
