Micro cams par excellence with narrow head widths and very light in weight.
The famous Alien Cams of CCH (Colorado Custom Hardware) were one of the best performing micro cams on the market but the company ceased production some years ago following the death of their designer David Waggoner. The Alien X is the sixth generation of this classic micro cam that obtained its first patent in 1986. It retains its original character, but in a revised version that has been improved in terms of performance and finishes.
Available in six sizes, the new Alien X now has cams with X-grip texture which improves the grip of the cams from the start. In addition, the three largest sizes (3/4 Yellow, 7/8 Grey and 1 red) will work as passive anchors, that is, they will act as nuts if the cams are fully open - useful if they "walk" back into a widening crack. The trigger has been improved ergonomically and re-sized making the cams easy and quick to manipulate, whether during placement or extraction. With all six sizes, there is now an additional 3mm between the trigger and the cams. It also has a solid and compact construction which gives it a more compact design.
- X-grip texture.
- Lightness and reduced volume.
- Its flexibility and extendable sling absorbs rope movement, preventing the cam from walking once placed.
- Improved trigger.
- Passive anchor in the three largest sizes.
