Good looking guide to winter ice climbing, mainly continental icefall and continental bolted mixed climbing techniques with oodles of colour photos.
Unfortunately pretty pictures alone do not a good instruction manual make and this is all rather over weighted towards top end stuff with somewhat limited information aimed at complete novices and a mistakenly small amount on Scottish winter techniques and equipment - which is presumably what the target readership will actually be engaged in.
On the plus side, if you leading Scottish V and above and want to get into even harder mixed and water ice climbing then there is a lot of good stuff in here written by people who know what they're talking about.
