Although one might quibble at the assertion than no technical skill is needed to climb anything that is nearly 6000m high (a knowledge of altitude sickness prevention is important), this is a fine and beautifully illustrated guide that is much more than an instruction manual on climbing the mountain.
It is profusely illustrated with hand drawn maps and includes a few colour photos and a detailed history of the mountain as well as guides to the neighbouring peak of Meru and the towns of Arush, Moshi, Marangu, Nairobi, and Dar es Salaam.
By the humorous and very knowledgeable Henry Stedman.
