Detailed phototopo guide to icefalls in the alpine areas of France, Switzerland and Italy, volume 1 of a two volume set. It is well illustrated with photos, photodiagrams and maps and almost double the amount of routes have been described compared to the old guide book, which was itself already extremely substantial.
Approximately 700 routes are described in this first volume and photos of each icefall have been included, as well as the geographical coordinates of the car parks and of almost all the routes, thanks to a simple QR code. For reading in the cafe, there are also a few tales of early ascents and other historical information.
