Nalgene Sustain Tritan Bottles are made with a revolutionary resin powered by new recycling technology that transforms plastic destined for landfills into high-performance BPA/BPS-free bottles. This material is derived from 50% waste plastic (using ISCC certified mass balance), further offsetting the use of fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. They are not only virtually unbreakable but also leak proof and do not make your drink taste of plastic. This material is a replacement for the well established Tritan bottles and is BPA free.
They are dishwasher safe (though please make sure the cap does not touch the heating element) and withstand temperatures from -40ºC to 100ºC.
Wide mouth bottles are easier to clean and fill (especially with snow or powdered drink supplements) but tend to slop down your chest when you drink out of them, particularly as you get older. Narrow necked bottles are easier to drink out of but harder to clean and fill. For expedition use go for wide mouth ones.
