Traditional mountaineering glacier glasses and timeless classics worthy of Gaston Rébuffat himself! Reissued to celebrate the Chamonix alpine scene, and though they look totally cool, they are also practical Cat 3 mountaineering glacier glasses with modern lenses and leather side shields.

Cat. 3 polycarbonate lens (visible light transmission rate: 5%) with an anti-reflective coating that improves visual comfort by eliminating stray reflections. The flash finish improves filtration of visible light by applying a mirror effect to the lens which blocks sunlight and increases the filter effect. Recommended for sports exposed to conditions with strong glare such as alpine mountaineering, they are also fine for driving in.

  • 360° Adjustable Temples can be moved in all directions. Under a helmet, over a hat or on the head, the frames are held in place.
  • Grip Nose Pads have a soft, non-slip insert for comfort and grip on the nose.
  • Removable leather side shields protect the eyes of mountaineers and create an unmistakably vintage look.
  • Flexible temple ends for good grip around the ears.
  • Iconic metal frame tested and approved by generations of mountaineers.

Material: Polycarbonate.
Colour: Smoke/Multilayer Red.
VLT (visibility light transmission): 12%.

1 43% - 80% visible light transmitted. Suitable for use in cloudy conditions with virtually no direct sunlight eg blizzards and whiteouts
2 18% - 43% visible light transmitted. Suitable for use as general sunglasses and in cloudy conditions in the mountains, but not in direct sunlight in mountain areas where there will be a lot of reflection off snow and ice.
3 8% - 18% visible light transmitted. Suitable for Alpine and Himalayan mountaineering for most uses, but for prolonged exposure at high altitude Category 4 is recommended.
4 3% - 8% visible light transmitted. For prolonged exposure at high altitude and especially if you have weak eyes. Will be found too dark for everyday use and should not be used for driving a car.
